Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. He was the third pastor in his family at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He graduated from Boston University with his bachelors degree. He was also the youngest man to receive the noble peace prize in 1964. He was given this for his fight in ending racial segregation. King is mostly known for his “I Have a Dream” speech which he gave in Washington DC in which both races attended to support his campaign in ending segregation. He was the face of eliminating segregation and spoke to many towns, people, and even spoke in front of President John F. Kennedy. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot on his hotel balcony on April 4, 1968. President Regan made every 3rd Monday in January “Martin Luther King Day” and it is celebrated with great pride every year.
