Balloon Boy CNN

In recent news, a 6 year old boy apparently was flying high in a balloon device in Colorado. When the police got involved in the act, and went on a search for the “Balloon Boy”, they discovered nothing was really in the balloon. Confused and angry, police got a hold of the family whose son was supposedly in the balloon and started to interrogate them.
The parents of the “Balloon Boy” Richard and Mayumi Heene, were interviewed by the press recently. In the interview, the child who was allegedly in the balloon, confessed to not actually being in it, and that his parents put him up to it for a publicity stunt. It was apparent the parents just wanted fame and did not care about the future or welfare of their child’s life.
After getting much discrimination from the press and America, the family was put into shame. They were known as only for wanting a reality show, and uncaring parents. Just recently, Richard Heene turned himself in Monday morning at the Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. Heene pleaded guilty in November to a felony count of attempting to influence a public servant. A judge sentenced Heene to spend 90 days in custody. He will spend 30 days and nights in jail but is eligible for work release during the last 60 days of his sentence.
He also must serve four years on probation and complete 100 hours of community service each year. Prosecutors said he and his wife staged their son’s disappearance to generate publicity for themselves because they wanted to star in a reality television show. This obvious shows the true character of the Heene parents.
“There is no doubt in my mind that this thing was a hoax, and I really doubt that there’s very few people in America who don’t understand at this point that this was an elaborate hoax perpetrated by Richard and Mayumi,” said the sheriff.
